Three Brits have progressed into the last four of the men's $50,000
circuit event in Sunderland.
Richard Bloomfied, the eighth seed, defeated Norway's Stian
Boretti 6-2, 7-6(1) to reach the semi-finals where he next
faces sixth seed James Auckland who knocked out fourth seed Lee Childs 6-3, 6-4.
In the other half of the draw, second seed Mark Hilton defeated Matthew Smith 6-4,
7-6(2) and will face the number three seed Harsh Mankad of India for a
place in the final.

Women's Results
In the top half of the draw of the women's event local girl Sarah Borwell
defeated Poland's Joanna Sakowicz 6-2, 6-1 to move into the
quarter-final round where she next faces Bulgaria's Maria Geznenge.
Whilst sixth seed Amanda Janes defeated Emily Webley-Smith 6-1, 6-4 and will next
face Russian Irina Bulykina.
The lower half of the draw sees an all British clash with Katie O'Brien taking on third seed Elena Baltacha for a place in the semis.
O'Brien defeated Gaelle Widmer of Switzerland 6-3, 7-5
whilst Baltacha defeated Pauline Parmentier of France 6-2,
6-2.
